Product info
The Mapicture® software is particularly suited for the visualization of data with a geographical and temporal dimension. One example might be the number of homes sold per municipality per year.
Using Mapicture® requires no prior knowledge of maps (GIS) or programming – Designing setups is very easy, as long as the designer is confident with Excel. The end users need no prior knowledge – all they have to do is press Play and watch the movie.
Mapicture® includes three product modules
Design
In the Design module data is imported and the layout is designed via the menu interface.
Projector
The Projector module is used for displaying previously created layouts in presentations by use of applications such as Power Point.
Web
The Web module is used for sharing layouts via Internet/Intranet.
Where do the maps come from?
Vector maps (graphics) are based on vectors. These vectors are points that are interlinked by lines. All these points are computed mathematically and the can be enlarged and reduced without comprimizing the quality of the object. You can import vector maps in the Mapicture Design module.
The maps can be your own maps of separatons that are of interest, or publicly available maps such as the DAGI maps. Mapicture® comes with a standard package of administrative base maps that comprise municipalities, regions, parishes, jurisdictions, police districts, zip codes, nominating districts (primarily for elections) and electoral districts (primarily for elections).
Where does the data come from?
The data may come from stationary flat text files or they can be loaded via an online data web service.
Actually, there are no limitations as long as the data is geographically segmented (countries, municipalities, zip codes etc.)
Understand data
In Mapicture® you can view time series of compared data in interactive maps played as a movie.
